Clearing the registry in the spirit of GDPR

Strength from the Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - blog about clearing the marketing register.

A good marketing register is an absolute prerequisite for outbound marketing and sales. In order for it to correspond to the spirit of the Data Protection Regulation, it is worth remembering a few basic things.

The regulation is worth reading through, even if you have to do it several times, it is such a boring and difficult text.
The worst mistake is to rely on hearsay about interpretations of the Data Protection Regulation. The majority get it completely wrong.

In order for the register to be usable, the following measures should be taken:

  1. Define the companies you want to market to. Start it by analyzing existing customers. Which industries are they in and what do they tell about themselves.

  2. Buy yourself a register of interesting companies with their decision-makers. In accordance with the spirit of the regulation, they must play the right role for you.

  3. Make sure you have an up-to-date data protection statement in which you provide the information according to the regulation. Don't be bureaucratic about the text, write like a person to a person. However, familiarize yourself with the content of the regulation.

  4. Remove those companies and their people from your register that you have not received a response from using marketing communications or that are not in your sales pipeline or as customers. Do it, for example, annually, and you already comply with the spirit of the Data Protection Regulation quite well.

  5. Start the same procedure no later than a year from now or when you get new target groups through new products.

How can Melba Digital help with registry management

Melba Digital turned the Data Protection Regulation into a strength. We built services and developed the features of the Melba CRM software to make it as easy as possible to take care of the condition of the register.

The new Melba CRM software includes understandable reports on the condition of your marketing register.

Our customer bank, on the other hand, helps our customers keep the information fresh and monitor changes for both companies and individuals.
